Orzo Cioccolata by Lupicia Tea

During a recent visit to the San Francisco Bay Area in California, we stopped by one of our favorite tea stores, Lupicia Tea. One of the teas we picked up was the Orzo Cioccolata. It is a barley tea infused with a dark chocolate flavor. The taste is a strong toasty chocolate with barley undertones. The deepness of the chocolate is almost bitter. The addition of milk rounds out the flavor without burying it. Milk can easily drown out the delicate flavor of some teas. Fortunately, this doesn't happen with the Cioccolata. The result is like a sophisticated chocolate milk without the sugar, although the barley adds its own natural sweetness. We were able to cold-brew this tea as well, which was nice and refreshing. If you like barley tea and a deep cocoa flavor, consider trying this tea.

Lupicia tea is a bit commercialized, however the flavor combinations that they produce are unique and fun. Their products are very easy to prepare as well, so we recommend them for the casual tea drinker.
